Chapter President's Message May-June, 2010

Our May meeting has just concluded and it was very informative due to our great guests, Denise Ligamarre of Western Division Federal Credit Union , and Patricia Herberger of Herberger Consulting Group, which specializes in Identity Theft Risk Management and Group Security. Both ladies provided very helpful advice and precautions to take in preventing identity theft. Additionally, Ms. Ligamarre informed the group on how to manage, improve, and protect your credit score.

As a chapter, we are eagerly looking forward to the approach of the Annual Planning Conference to be hosted by our chapter on October 23, 2010 at the Millenium Hotel. We are expecting guests from Maine through Rhode Island. However, much planning and hard work is being done behind the scenes, especially by our immediate past president, Custom Topsoil’s Diane Burger. The biggest challenge will be to find sponsors willing to assist us, materially and monetarily, with our event. However, Western New Yorkers are known for their generosity, and those in the construction industry are no exception. Knowing their donations will further education and promote interest in the construction industry at a local level will hopefully inspire our colleagues to contribute generously.

Now on to our June meeting! A representative from Robert Half Finance and Accounting will be on hand to teach meeting attendees about time management. This is much needed information for many of us, so I encourage all members to invite a guest.

During our June meeting we will also continue to announce and fine tune our plans for APC. This is an exciting time for our chapter and all members’ ideas are welcomed.

Our June meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8th at 6 p.m. The location for our meeting is Tony Rome’s on Union Road in West Seneca. A board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m.

If there is anything I have missed or you would like to see addressed, please contact me. See you on June 8th! Please get your reservations and dinner selection to Jackie Mackenburg ASAP…

We need to solicit everyone we can to sponsor our association for APC and/or our website.
If each member would send me between 5 and 10 names of those you do business with or see on a regular basis, I will send out the letters and do the follow up. Think of parts places, material suppliers, vendors, bankers, benefits administrators, etc. APC is regional, so if anyone has offices in other cities or if they do business in the Northeast, that is who we should concentrate on.
A contact name and mailing address would be great.
If I could have it by June 11, 2010……
Thanks,
Diane
